AI agents
A chatbot answers a question. An agent does something about it. That difference is the entire engineering problem.
When an assistant becomes an agent
The moment a system stops describing an action and starts taking one, everything changes.
A wrong answer is embarrassing. A wrong action updates a record, sends an email, issues a refund, or books something. Wrong actions have consequences that outlive the conversation, and they're harder to notice because nobody reads a log until something breaks.
So an agent isn't a chatbot with more permissions. It's a system that needs the things any automated actor needs: scoped access, validation before execution, approval gates on anything expensive or irreversible, and a record of what it did and why.
We build agents the way you'd build any process with authority. Carefully.
What we build
- Operations agents
- Triage incoming requests, route them, update records, and prepare the work so a person only handles the part that needs judgment.
- Research and reporting agents
- Gather from multiple sources, cross-reference, and produce a structured output on a schedule. The kind of task that eats a Monday morning every week.
- Support agents
- Resolve the repetitive share of ticket volume end to end, with clean escalation the moment confidence drops.
- Internal tool agents
- Sitting inside Slack, Teams, or your own product, with access to exactly the systems they need and nothing more.
The guardrails, specifically
Because "with guardrails" is a phrase everyone uses and few define:
- Scoped permissions
- The agent gets its own credentials with the narrowest access that lets it work. It cannot reach systems outside its brief, because it was never given the keys.
- Approval gates on consequence
- You decide the threshold. Below it the agent acts; above it a human confirms. Refunds over an amount, emails to external addresses, anything that deletes.
- Validation before execution
- Actions are checked against schema and business rules before they run, not after.
- A full audit trail
- Every action, the reasoning behind it, and the inputs it saw. When something goes wrong you can reconstruct exactly what happened.
- A stop button
- Someone can halt it. This sounds obvious and is frequently missing.
Before you ask.
For a fixed process, ordinary automation is cheaper and more reliable, and we'll tell you to use it. Agents earn their cost when the task needs judgment — variable inputs, exceptions, decisions that don't reduce to rules.
Workflow Automation
Your systems are fine. It's the space between them where the week disappears.
AI & MLGenerative AI
Most generative AI projects die somewhere between the demo and the deadline. We build the version that survives the gap.
Intelligent SystemsChatbots & Assistants
Your customers have met a chatbot before. Statistically, it wasted their time. You're not starting from neutral — you're starting from a grudge.
Tell us what you're trying to build.
A 30-minute call, no charge and no pitch deck. Describe the problem and we'll tell you how we'd approach it, roughly what it costs, and whether we're the right team for it. If we're not, we'll say so.
