AI strategy & consulting
This page is for people who have to justify the spend before they can approve it.
Deciding is the hard part
You've been told AI will transform your operations. You've also watched a competitor spend a year and a budget on a pilot that quietly disappeared. Both stories are true, and neither tells you what to do on Monday.
What's usually missing isn't ambition. It's a specific, honest answer to three questions: which of our processes would actually benefit, is our data in a state to support it, and what would it cost to find out.
That's what this engagement produces. A document you can take to a board, with numbers you can defend and a recommendation that sometimes says no.
What we deliver
- Opportunity assessment
- We work through your processes with the people who run them and identify where AI creates real leverage. Ranked by value and by feasibility, which are different axes and frequently point in different directions.
- Data readiness audit
- An honest look at what you have, what state it's in, and what it would take to get it usable. This is where most optimistic roadmaps quietly fall apart, so we do it early and in writing.
- Build, buy, or wait
- For each opportunity: is there a product that already does this, is it worth building, or is the sensible move to leave it eighteen months? We have no incentive to say "build" — this engagement is priced the same either way.
- Costed roadmap
- Sequenced, with effort estimates and the dependencies between items made explicit. Including which one to start with and why.
- Risk and governance notes
- Where your obligations sit, what needs human oversight, and what would need to be true before a system touches customers or regulated decisions.
What makes this different from a consultancy deck
We build these systems. Every estimate in the roadmap is one we'd be willing to quote against, because we'd be the ones delivering it.
That cuts both ways, and you should know it: we have an obvious interest in recommending work we could do. Our answer is that the deliverable is yours unconditionally — take it to another firm, take it in-house, or shelve it. We've been paid either way, and a roadmap that overstates the case is worth nothing to our reputation.
The engagement
`[1–2 weeks]`. Fixed fee. Workshops with your team, a review of your data and systems, and a written deliverable at the end that belongs to you.
Before you ask.
No. The deliverable is yours to use however you like, including with someone else.
Generative AI
Most generative AI projects die somewhere between the demo and the deadline. We build the version that survives the gap.
AI & MLAI Agents
A chatbot answers a question. An agent does something about it. That difference is the entire engineering problem.
Data & CloudData Engineering
Nobody has ever asked us for data engineering. They ask for the dashboard, the model, or the AI feature — and then we find out why it isn't working.
Tell us what you're trying to build.
A 30-minute call, no charge and no pitch deck. Describe the problem and we'll tell you how we'd approach it, roughly what it costs, and whether we're the right team for it. If we're not, we'll say so.
